Job Description
Via is a cutting-edge transportation technology company that focuses on making shared rides more efficient and environmentally friendly. By leveraging advanced app-based technology, Via is reinventing the way people experience ridesharing. The company is dedicated to reducing traffic congestion, lowering emissions, and optimizing the way passengers reach their destinations quickly and sustainably. In Sacramento, California, Via has partnered with SacRT to deliver an innovative, on-demand ridesharing service, helping residents and visitors enjoy flexible and affordable transportation options.
Via operates as a tech-driven platform connecting independent contractor Driver Partners with riders through an efficient routing system. Through this partnership, drivers earn competitive compensation while enjoying the flexibility to set their own schedules. The role is designed for individuals who thrive on independence, wish to maximize their earning potential, and value the convenience of choosing when and how long they drive. The position is unique in its allowance for drivers to operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles, adding a vital service component to the community.
Driver Partners on the Via platform have access to up to $21.50 per hour (net earnings after vehicle-related expenses) when driving wheelchair-accessible vehicles, supported by a lucrative $300 new driver promotion incentive. As independent contractors, drivers control their working hours without the constraints of minimum commitments or shift requirements. Another significant benefit of partnering with Via includes the flexibility to lease a vehicle from a dedicated vehicle partner, which helps reduce wear and tear on personal vehicles while ensuring drivers have access to well-maintained cars.
The company offers robust support to its Driver Partners with a 24/7 live support system staffed by real people ready to assist whenever needed. The onboarding process includes essential background screening, motor vehicle record verification, and compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring a safe and reliable service for both drivers and passengers. Completing the required drug testing is part of the commitment to maintaining a safe operating environment for all parties involved.
This compelling opportunity is not only about earning money but also about contributing to a forward-thinking transportation model that strives to make cities more livable and sustainable. Those who partner with Via play a critical role in the emerging future of on-demand public transit, where technology meets community service to create positive urban mobility solutions. The job represents an ideal fit for responsible, motivated individuals seeking flexible work that fits into their lifestyle while providing financial rewards and personal satisfaction.
