SusieCakes is currently seeking dedicated and passionate bakery team members, specifically for the roles involving morning bake shifts starting as early as midnight to 4:00 AM or pastry bakery and cake decorator shifts starting as early as 5:00 AM. These roles are integral to maintaining the bakery’s high standards and customer satisfaction. Compensation for these positions ranges from $20.00 to $21.00 per hour, offering competitive pay alongside a dynamic and supportive work environment.

The responsibilities encompass preparing all SusieCakes product offerings, including custom and specialty cakes tailored to guests’ requests, with a steadfast commitment to maintaining the company’s quality standards. Candidates will be involved in a variety of culinary tasks such as mixing, baking, building, decorating, and inscribing products with precision and creativity. Additionally, employees will perform cleaning and storage of all bakery equipment, facilitating smooth and efficient operations.

Beyond baking, team members will also support inventory management by restocking products and monitoring inventory levels, communicating effectively with the Manager on Duty. The role requires adherence to strict food safety codes and the proper handling and storage of food items. Team members may also operate bakery machinery such as mixers, ovens, sheeters, dishwashers, and grease traps, ensuring all equipment is maintained properly.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment

  • Ability to work in multiple regional locations
  • Ability to work in cross functional roles as needed including front-of house and back-of-house
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs
  • Must have reliable transportation

Job Duties

  • Prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to recipes and standard operating procedures including cakes, cookies, pies, bars, puddings, buttercreams, etc
  • Mix, bake, build, decorate, and inscribe products in an efficient manner as applicable
  • Restock, monitor and advise Manager on Duty of product inventory levels
  • Perform shifts, fulfill orders and complete production as scheduled
  • Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, sheeters, three-compartment sink/dishwasher, grease traps, etc
  • Perform dishwasher duties as needed
  • Assist guest service team with guests as needed
