(Early Childhood Education) Teacher Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our Child Care/Pre-School program. This is a non-exempt, full-time position offering $20.56 per hour for 40 hours per week. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, Program Manager, and Program Director, the Teacher Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting early childhood education and care. This role involves assisting lead teachers in the instruction and supervision of preschool children, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development appropriate to each child’s age and stage.

As a Teacher Assistant, you will collaborate with instructors to implement lesson plans, prepare educational materials, and facilitate group activities both indoors and outdoors. You will be responsible for helping maintain orderly classroom environments, assisting children during meals and naps, and documenting attendance and developmental progress. Safety is a paramount concern, and you will take all reasonable precautions to ensure children are supervised at all times. The position requires a positive attitude, sensitivity to the diverse needs of children and families, and the ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.

This role requires active participation in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent meetings, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the position in fostering young learners’ growth as well as supporting the program’s goals. The physical demands include regular use of hands and arms, sitting at child-level seating, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
