With comprehensive programs that span various sectors, including child care and early education, MAOF's commitment to fostering growth and opportunity is evident in their continued efforts to improve quality of life for those they serve. The organization is known for its supportive work environment and extensive employee benefits, making it a desirable employer in the community services sector.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our Child Care/Pre-School program. This is a non-exempt, full-time position offering $20.56 per hour for 40 hours per week. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, Program Manager, and Program Director, the Teacher Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting early childhood education and care. This role involves assisting lead teachers in the instruction and supervision of preschool children, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development appropriate to each child’s age and stage.
As a Teacher Assistant, you will collaborate with instructors to implement lesson plans, prepare educational materials, and facilitate group activities both indoors and outdoors. You will be responsible for helping maintain orderly classroom environments, assisting children during meals and naps, and documenting attendance and developmental progress. Safety is a paramount concern, and you will take all reasonable precautions to ensure children are supervised at all times. The position requires a positive attitude, sensitivity to the diverse needs of children and families, and the ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.
This role requires active participation in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent meetings, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the position in fostering young learners’ growth as well as supporting the program’s goals. The physical demands include regular use of hands and arms, sitting at child-level seating, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. Health requirements include state-mandated physical exams, tuberculosis clearance, vaccination records, and flu vaccinations, highlighting MAOF's commitment to a healthy workplace environment.
MAOF supports its employees with a robust benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance fully paid by the organization, retirement plans, and various supplemental insurance options. Opportunities for professional development and employee assistance programs are provided to create a supportive and rewarding work experience. Overall, this position is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families while benefiting from employment stability and growth within a respected community organization.
