Job Description

Earl of Sandwich has a rich heritage dating back to 1762 when John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, is credited with inventing the sandwich as a convenient meal for those engaged in leisurely activities such as card playing. This historic invention revolutionized dining by combining roast beef and other ingredients between two slices of bread, creating a meal that is now beloved worldwide. Today, Earl of Sandwich continues this legacy, offering a variety of hot sandwiches and other menu items crafted with artisan bread baked fresh to order and traditional family recipes made with fresh ingredients. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences inspired by 250 years of sandwich-making expertise.

The Delivery Driver role at Earl of Sandwich involves much more than simply transporting food items. It is a vital position responsible for ensuring that guests receive their orders in a courteous, safe, and timely manner. Delivery Drivers are also actively involved in the preparation side of the operation. This includes assisting with building sandwiches, salads, wraps, sides, and desserts while consistently adhering to the established recipes, presentation standards, and rigorous sanitation protocols set forth by Earl of Sandwich. The role requires a commitment to working collaboratively with the store team, maintaining food quality, and upholding the brand's reputation.

A successful Delivery Driver at Earl of Sandwich must have an excellent understanding of local streets and highways to find the fastest and safest routes for delivering orders. The role demands strong customer service skills, including friendly telephone communication, efficient order handling, order accuracy in the POS system, and handling guest concerns with professionalism. Drivers should also possess basic cash handling capabilities to process transactions accurately.

Beyond delivery duties, this position involves maintaining a clean and organized restaurant environment. Tasks include setting up and breaking down dining rooms, kitchen areas, prep stations, and restrooms as well as assisting with inventory transfers and light cleaning duties. Delivery Drivers must also promote the brand by delivering local marketing materials in their delivery area to help boost sales.

Earl of Sandwich values teamwork, excellent communication, ethical behavior, and customer-focused service. Drivers must demonstrate adaptability and flexibility, building positive relationships with guests and colleagues alike to ensure a welcoming atmosphere consistent with the brand’s heritage and commitment to quality. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy a dynamic work environment with a blend of food preparation, delivery, and customer interaction, all while representing a renowned sandwich pioneer.
