Known for its commitment to quality, creativity, and culinary excellence, Ugly Dumpling combines traditional recipes with innovative flavors to deliver an exceptional dining experience. With a strong presence in the food industry, Ugly Dumpling emphasizes fresh ingredients, handmade preparation, and consistent quality to maintain its reputation among a diverse customer base seeking both familiar and unique Asian-inspired dishes. The company fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment, prioritizing teamwork and professional growth, making it an attractive employer for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food production.
The Production Team Member (Dumpling Maker/Prep) role at Ugly Dumpling is essential to upholding the brand's high culinary standards. This full-time or part-time position, reporting to the Culinary Manager, offers flexible hours ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week and caters to both exempt and nonexempt employees. Candidates joining the production team will play a hands-on role in crafting high-quality dumplings and bao from scratch. They will follow detailed recipes and standardized procedures to ensure consistency, precision, and efficiency across daily production tasks.
This role demands excellent attention to detail and strong teamwork as individuals contribute to a seamless production process. Responsibilities include hand-folding dumplings to meet Ugly Dumpling's presentation standards, preparing dough and fillings, operating production equipment safely, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. Team members will also participate in training sessions to refine their skills, support inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels, and assist during peak production periods or special events. The production environment requires manual dexterity, physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, and the ability to work under varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and noise.
Ugly Dumpling values a team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills and a commitment to food safety and sanitation practices. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in food production or kitchen prep, whether they have prior experience or are eager to learn and adapt to new techniques and equipment. The company maintains a supportive and inclusive workplace, compliant with all applicable anti-discrimination laws, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees regardless of background or identity.
