Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years sales experience in the hospitality industry
  • Market knowledge of the Raleigh/Cary area highly desired
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Must be a strong leader, self-motivator and team builder
  • Passion for hotel sales

Job Duties

  • Maintain a solid knowledge of occupancy trends and hotel availability in order to aid General Manager with yield management goals
  • Prospect new business using wedding venues, city wide events, universities, sports, churches, etc.
  • Conduct hotel site tours, presentations, and client relationship-building activities
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity and booking reports required by the corporate office
  • Work collaboratively with the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Operations teams to ensure group success
  • Ensure proper execution of group blocks, cutoff dates, billing arrangements, and service requirements
  • Use and maintain approved database to keep in touch with current and past clients
  • Create and distribute group resumes, rooming lists, and event details
  • Develop and maintain sales and marketing plans
  • Supervise the property's sales department and take responsibility for achieving hotel revenue goals
  • Enhance public and community relations
  • Maintain and support the implementation of all CMC policies and procedures
  • Maintain required Marriott brand training certifications
