Their programs include vocational and therapy interventions, day treatments, and specialized services catered to infants, children, adolescents, military service members, and veterans. This broad spectrum of services highlights the organization’s dedication to serving a wide demographic, each with unique needs and requirements.
Sevita, the parent organization of NeuroRestorative, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized healthcare services. With over 50 years of experience and 40,000 team members nationwide, Sevita has consistently pursued its mission to help individuals of all abilities live full, independent lives. Serving more than 50,000 individuals across the U.S., Sevita’s commitment to quality care, innovation, and inclusivity makes it a respected name in the healthcare industry.
The current role is for a Housekeeper/Cook in a dual capacity at the NeuroRestorative location on Jacinto Road. This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 10 hours per week, with an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.00. The position involves maintaining cleanliness and order in various common areas of the care facility as well as handling cooking responsibilities. Individuals hired for this role will play an essential part in ensuring a healthy, safe, and supportive environment for both residents and staff.
This dual role calls for a meticulous and responsible individual capable of efficiently managing housekeeping duties such as cleaning rooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms, and other work areas to meet health standards. It also requires skill in operating vacuum cleaners, shampooers, and other cleaning equipment, along with responsibilities such as trash removal, window and wall cleaning, and routine maintenance reporting. The cooking aspect includes preparing meals that meet health and safety standards. Moreover, the role sometimes involves errands like grocery shopping and laundry management, requiring organizational skills and attention to detail.
Adherence to safety and sanitation protocols is crucial, including following universal precautions, handling hazardous materials correctly, and upholding infection control standards. The employee must be vigilant about protecting customer property and reporting any damage or incidents. Additionally, the role demands sensitivity and respect towards the individuals receiving services, promoting their dignity, independence, and empowerment.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but requires medium physical exertion, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally. It also allows and may require travel as needed. NeuroRestorative and Sevita pride themselves on being equal opportunity employers, fostering diversity, and ensuring nondiscriminatory practices across race, gender, age, disability, and other protected statuses. This opportunity offers a meaningful way to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment while performing essential household and culinary functions.
