The Dual General Manager position at Dreamscape Hospitality is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the operations of two hotels simultaneously, ensuring both properties operate profitably while upholding the highest standards of service and management. The General Manager will drive the profitability of both hotels by focusing on key areas such as revenue growth, effective cost management, superior guest satisfaction, and robust employee development. This executive role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is classified as an exempt status position, which typically entails a 50-hour workweek with occasional extended hours. The role demands a leader with strong decision-making capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage operational complexities across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance with company operational standards, overseeing financial management including budget adherence and financial forecasting, and fostering a positive work environment to motivate and develop hotel staff. The General Manager will actively engage with guests and clients to build and maintain strong relationships, play an integral role in business development alongside the Director of Sales, and ensure thorough training and performance management across all departments. Regular inspections and maintenance oversight are also critical to maintain the hotels' physical integrity and safety standards. The position requires proficiency in Windows operating systems and company-approved software for spreadsheets and word processing, alongside a valid driver’s license. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in hotel management or related fields, or equivalent educational qualifications with related experience, contributing to a comprehensive skill set suitable for managing dual hotel operations effectively.

Job Requirements

  • at least 6 years of progressive experience in hotel management or a related field
  • a 4-year college degree with 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • a 2-year college degree with 5-6 years of related experience
  • proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing software
  • valid driver’s license in the applicable state
  • typically requires a 50-hour work week with occasional extended hours
  • light physical effort with up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or continuously to move, carry, or lift objects

Job Duties

  • interact with guests and staff in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with Dreamscape Hospitality standards, with schedules that vary based on hotel needs
  • adhere to the hotel’s grooming standards and dress code, wearing a name tag as per brand guidelines
  • ensure adherence to Dreamscape Hospitality’s operational standards to maintain safe and efficient hotel operations
  • ensure compliance with certification requirements such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, and CPR/First Aid, as applicable to the role
  • collaborate with the Director of Sales to discuss prospecting, sales calls, and business opportunities
  • play an active role in hotel sales, including meeting with top clients, hosting events, and cultivating relationships with key accounts
  • regularly tour hotel departments, making adjustments through department heads as needed
