Phoenix American Hospitality (PAH Management) is an independent franchisee that owns and operates the Courtyard by Marriott Baton Rouge South located at 10307 N Mall Dr, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Operating under the Marriott brand but functioning as a separate legal entity, PAH Management manages all employment policies including hiring, compensation, training, and benefits for their team members. The role of Dual General Manager at PAH Management involves overseeing two hotel properties and is classified under Property Leadership. This full-time management position is integral to driving hotel profitability, guest satisfaction, and employee growth. The Dual General Manager directly reports to the Corporate Director of Operations and Chief Operations Officer, ensuring communication lines are clear and strategic objectives are met. As a Dual General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in revenue generation and cost control, engage actively in sales efforts, including meeting key clients and hosting events, to build and maintain strong business relationships. You will be responsible for fostering a positive, team-oriented culture that prioritizes guest experience through continuous staff motivation and development. Daily property inspections and operational reviews with department heads ensure that the hotels meet the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and financial stewardship.
Managing financial responsibilities is a key component of this role. The Dual General Manager analyzes monthly forecasts and budgets, making adjustments to achieve cost-effective operations without compromising service quality. You will enforce consistent compliance with corporate accounting procedures, ensuring timely processing of financial documentation and adherence to monthly financial reviews and corporate programs. Staff training and development is another crucial aspect, with scheduled staff meetings and training sessions designed to enhance competencies and prepare managers for future career advancement.
The Dual General Manager also oversees human resources functions such as interviewing and hiring management candidates, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff as per company standards. Maintaining a fair and equitable workplace is essential, ensuring all employees are treated with respect and provided equal opportunities. Guest interaction forms part of the role, particularly during peak hours, supporting the guest experience by being visible and responsive.
Operational security is maintained through procedures governing hotel safes and monthly audits and the role requires certification and ongoing training compliance to support corporate standards. Job Requirements
- At least six years progressive experience in a hotel or related field or four-year college degree and four to five years of related experience or two-year college degree and five to six years of related experience
- Long hours sometimes required
- Must have valid driver’s license for the applicable state

Job Duties
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top ten accounts meeting clients hosting luncheons and receptions and meeting with on-site contacts daily weekly and monthly
- Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest through employee development and motivation
- Tour operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions presented by managers and self reviewing sales and operations efforts
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
- Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and PAH standard checkbook accounting procedures
- Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate programs
