The Therapeutic Mentor (TM) role at IS Living is a vital position designed to provide comprehensive support and care to clients. The TM works closely with individuals who have developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or other special needs, assisting them with crucial daily living activities and promoting independence. This role is more than caregiving; it is about helping clients achieve their personal goals, enhancing their life skills, and supporting their integration into the community. The TM’s contribution ensures that clients feel valued, safe, and empowered.

Therapeutic Mentors at IS Living engage in a variety of responsibilities including assistance with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support. They implement and uphold individualized behavior plans using positive reinforcement and therapeutic techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors. Their role extends to skill development, focusing on improving communication, socialization, and job readiness skills, essential for client independence. Household management duties include light housekeeping and meal preparation to maintain a supportive and healthy living environment.

Health and safety are paramount, and TMs monitor the health status of clients, assist with medication administration, and respond swiftly to emergencies. They also encourage community engagement by facilitating participation in social events and activities that foster inclusion and social interaction. Accurate documentation and reporting of client progress, behaviors, and medical information are essential components of the role. Working in partnership with healthcare professionals, Therapeutic Mentors provide holistic, person-centered care. This full-time role requires flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating the unique needs of clients.
