Responsibilities also include maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the residential environment, documenting daily activities and care provided, and facilitating transportation to healthcare appointments and other locations as necessary.
This position requires physical stamina including the ability to lift residents and perform repetitive motions related to caregiving tasks. The direct support professional must be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well both verbally and in writing to ensure the best outcomes for residents. Certifications such as DSP-I and DSP-II along with CPR, CPI, and First Aid are mandatory, reflecting the high standards of care Easter Seals Southern California upholds. This position is ideal for someone who finds fulfillment in providing comfort, promoting independence, and enhancing the wellbeing of individuals in a nurturing home-like setting.
