The role of Dining Services Coordinator at Avista Senior Living is a critical position responsible for overseeing the entire dining experience of residents, ensuring that meals are not only nutritious and delicious but also delivered with outstanding customer service. This full-time role involves managing food supplies, scheduling, and directing kitchen staff as well as coordinating dining room operations to meet health, safety, and quality standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years of experience managing food service operations in assisted living or hospitality
- Current ServSafe certification
- Ability to obtain level one fingerprint clearance from AZ Department of Public Safety
- Adult CPR/1st Aid training certification or willingness to obtain
- Must pass pulmonary tuberculosis screening before hire
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Physical ability to manage kitchen activities and supervise dining services
Job Qualifications

- Five years experience managing a food service department in the assisted living industry or in hospitality
- Current ServSafe certification required, as determined by the Executive Director and or State requirements
- Must have the ability to obtain a level one (1) fingerprint clearance through AZ Department of Public Safety
- Have or obtain adult CPR/1st Aid training
- Demonstrate freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis upon hire
Job Duties
- Manages food supplies and personnel to ensure that operations for areas of responsibility are performed efficiently within established budget and in compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations and Five Star policies, procedures and quality standards
- Manage, schedule, evaluate and direct the kitchen staff
- Ensure a sanitary dining room complying with all health and safety codes, licensing regulations and policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food
- Supervise and direct the cleaning of all dining and food services
- Develop and implement training, policies, and processes to ensure that kitchen staff members are properly groomed, dressed and using proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously
- Survey residents to determine their satisfaction levels with the service provided and make corrections as necessary
- Assist Dining Services associates in their job duties and assume their activities when needed
- Ensure that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents making them feel welcome and comfortable
- Supervise the tracking of resident attendance at meals and communicate to designated associate, those residents that have not come to the dining room for meal (for a safety check)
- Aid in community marketing effort through positive interactions, dress, and behavior
