Job Description
Ruan is a well-established transportation and logistics company with over 90 years of experience in the industry. Known for putting people first and maintaining a strong focus on safety, Ruan has earned a reputation for reliability and excellence. This company operates a diverse fleet and offers comprehensive transportation solutions catering to a wide range of customers across the United States. As an employer, Ruan is committed to creating a positive work environment where employees are valued, respected, and supported throughout their careers. They emphasize a culture built around longevity, professionalism, and employee well-being, which makes them a preferred choice among drivers and logistics professionals.
The current opening is for Class A CDL drivers based in Garland, Texas, working for a dedicated customer. This role promises a consistent Monday through Friday schedule that allows drivers to enjoy most nights at home, balancing work with personal life. Drivers can expect to start their shifts early at 2 a.m. with 9 to 10-hour shifts each day. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $25.50, with additional compensation for any overtime worked beyond 40 hours per week. Paychecks are issued on a weekly basis, contributing to financial stability for employees.
As a Class A CDL driver at Ruan, the primary responsibility involves operating both a 53-foot tractor-trailer combo and a straight truck. This requires proficiency in handling large commercial vehicles safely and efficiently. Some deliveries may necessitate the use of a pallet jack to move pallets to the tail of the trailer, so physical capability and familiarity with such equipment are essential. Additionally, adherence to safety regulations and company policies is paramount to maintaining Ruan's high standards and to ensure the safety of the driver, cargo, and the public.
The role also offers a unique opportunity to work with a company that values its drivers highly and provides competitive, affordable health and wellness benefits. This support aims to help employees take care of themselves and their families, which is a critical aspect of the company’s commitment to its workforce. Ruan operates with a commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants from varied backgrounds who meet the necessary qualifications.
In summary, this position offers a blend of rewarding compensation, steady work schedule, solid company support, and a chance to be part of a company that has thrived for over nine decades by focusing on people and safety. For qualified and motivated Class A CDL drivers seeking a home-daily route with a reputable industry leader, this opportunity at Ruan presents a promising career path.
