Established in 1900, AAA has built a long-standing reputation as a trusted provider of roadside assistance, insurance, travel services, and driver training programs. As a company, AAA prides itself on diversity, teamwork, and delivering legendary, lifetime service to its members by embracing different cultures, backgrounds, personalities, and strengths. The organization’s strength lies in its employees, fostering an inclusive environment where career-minded and service-driven professionals can thrive and grow within the company.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Driving School team as Part-Time Driver Training Instructors. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about promoting safe driving habits and making a meaningful impact in their communities by educating drivers of all ages and experience levels. As a Driver Training Instructor at AAA, you will have the opportunity to work within a well-established, reputable organization known for its commitment to member service and safety.
The position offers an hourly pay rate between $24.50 and $26.00, with part-time hours ranging from 20 to 25 per week. The schedule is designed to accommodate both weekday afternoons, starting between 3:15 pm and 4:30 pm, and weekend shifts, with at least one weekend day required. Weekend shifts may start as early as 7:00 am, lasting up to eight hours. AAA provides paid licensing and training, preparing instructors for their roles with comprehensive support and resources. Additionally, there are growth and advancement opportunities for those interested in developing their careers within the company.
As a Driver Training Instructor, your main responsibilities will include delivering behind-the-wheel instruction following AAA’s curriculum and training standards, using driving school software to track and manage student progress, assessing student performance, and offering personalized guidance to help each student build confidence and competence on the road. Staying current with safe and defensive driving practices, as well as ensuring compliance with all required state documentation, are also key components of this role.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry, along with confidence in working with the public, especially teenagers. A strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits is essential, as is flexibility to accommodate student schedules, including weekdays and weekends. Physical capability to perform the tasks required, such as sitting for extended periods and safely controlling the vehicle in emergency situations, is necessary. AAA is committed to providing a supportive work environment where instructors can thrive, grow, and contribute to creating safer roads in their communities.
