Job Description
Urban Remedy is a pioneering plant-based organic food company dedicated to the belief that food is healing. Founded by Neka Pasquale, a licensed Acupuncturist, the company combines ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine principles with modern functional medicine innovations to offer clean, nourishing foods. Urban Remedy is committed to creating certified organic and non-GMO products free from preservatives, fillers, refined flours, sugars, oils, gluten, and dairy. With a focus on transparency, authenticity, and community service, Urban Remedy delivers fresh organic food and juice products designed to empower individuals to lead healthier lives. The company fosters a culture rooted in core values such as foundation, accountability, creativity, change, integrity, and empowerment, which guide its team members in all aspects of work and external relationships.
The driver and shipping warehouse team member role at Urban Remedy is an essential position within the Operations / Shipping department, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. This non-exempt position plays a vital role in ensuring that fresh organic products are accurately packed, safely delivered, and properly stocked at local Bay Area stores. The job requires the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism during customer and vendor interactions. Reliability, attention to detail, and resourcefulness are critical attributes for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse and packing experience, be a quick learner, and a strong team player. The driver operates refrigerated trucks under optimized route schedules and works diligently to uphold Urban Remedy’s commitment to quality control, including verifying product expiration dates, maintaining proper temperatures, and ensuring kiosks are attractively stocked. Duties also include maintaining cleanliness and order in the workspace and vehicle, performing routine vehicle inspections, complying with safety and transportation regulations, and reporting any issues promptly to supervisors. The role involves early morning shifts, sometimes starting as early as 3 AM, and includes weekend and holiday work as needed. Technical proficiency with GPS navigation and delivery logging software is necessary, alongside the ability to maneuver a 16-foot box truck safely through urban environments. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, working in refrigerated conditions, and handling pallet jacks or hand trucks. This role offers a hands-on, dynamic work environment in line with an entrepreneurial and growth-focused company culture, with opportunities for professional development and personal growth as part of the Urban Remedy team.
