McLane offers competitive pay for this role, with trainee pay rates ranging between $65,000 and $75,000 annually. Upon successful completion of training, Driver earnings increase significantly, spanning from $75,000 to $110,000 per year. This role is well-suited for those with a Class A CDL who are at least 21 years old and possess a strong commitment to safety, reliability, adaptability, and dedication. Applicants will engage in both classroom and on-road training segments, mastering a broad range of responsibilities that include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, safe operation of tractor-trailers in compliance with all applicable regulations, use of delivery handheld devices, customer service interactions, and maintenance of accurate delivery logs using manual methods or PeopleNet devices. Trainees will also assist with unloading and product delivery at customer sites, ensuring product integrity and customer satisfaction. McLane’s policy requires drivers to effectively communicate in English and maintain physical capabilities required to operate and deliver products safely and efficiently.
