Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a subsidiary of Performance Food Group (PFG), stands as a leading broadline distributor in the foodservice industry. This esteemed company maintains strong relationships with a diverse range of local customers that includes independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The team at Performance Foodservice is composed of dedicated sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other specialists who collaborate closely with customers to provide expert advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and overall operational strategies. Their mission goes beyond simply delivering delicious food; they are committed to helping independent restaurant owners and foodservice businesses thrive and achieve their dreams through exceptional service and support.
As a Shuttle Driver for Performance Foodservice, you will be integral to the company’s food distribution network, ensuring the timely and safe transport of trailers between warehouse locations and shuttle yard sites. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $70,000 per year and follows a Sunday through Thursday evening dispatch schedule starting at 6 pm. This role provides opportunities for growth within a safe and inclusive work environment characterized by a culture that emphasizes rewards, recognition, and respect. Employees benefit from comprehensive support, including day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more.
In your capacity as a Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for operating tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes. You will transport empty trailers to operating company warehouse locations and facilitate the return and delivery of full trailers loaded with various products to domicile and shuttle yard locations. This role demands compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to ensure operational excellence. In addition to driving responsibilities, you will perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, secure freight, handle equipment safely, and maintain accurate logging of hours in accordance with federal and company requirements. You will be expected to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, fostering positive communication that supports the company’s high standards for customer service and operational effectiveness.
This role is vital to maintaining the seamless operation of Performance Foodservice’s logistics and distribution system, supporting America's food supply chain. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in service delivery, operating in an environment that encourages collaboration and professional development. Responsibilities include the safe handling of goods, equipment maintenance, adherence to safety standards, and completing required documentation. The company places high importance on safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction, making the Shuttle Driver role not only operationally significant but also rewarding and dynamic. Performance Foodservice also prioritizes diversity and equal employment opportunity, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and ensuring an inclusive workplace. If you have a passion for driving, a commitment to safety, and want to contribute to a company dedicated to supporting the foodservice industry, this is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and forward-thinking organization.
