The Driver role at Pebble Beach Company is integral to delivering an exceptional guest experience by providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services across the resort's multiple luxury properties and nearby destinations. This full-time position offers competitive pay, starting at $17.40 per hour plus service charges, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and participation in a 401(k) retirement program with company matching. The Driver ensures guests travel comfortably to destinations such as the golf courses, hotels, the local airport, and other off-site locations while maintaining the professional standards and hospitality values synonymous with the Pebble Beach brand.
Key responsibilities for this role include transporting guests efficiently around resort properties in scheduled loops, assisting with luggage and golf clubs, and ensuring all vehicles are maintained, fueled, and inspected daily for safety. Drivers are expected to provide excellent customer service, greet guests warmly by name when possible, respond promptly to dispatch communications, and adhere strictly to company and legal safety guidelines. The position also involves supporting other guest services functions such as valet, porter, and concierge as needed, reflecting the collaborative culture of the company. This role requires a Class C Commercial License with passenger endorsement and a valid California driver’s license with minimal points. Drivers must demonstrate strong communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle multiple pieces of luggage and equipment gracefully.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California driver’s license with 2 points or less
- Must have or attain Class C Commercial License with passenger endorsement within three months
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle heavy luggage
- Ability to drive multiple vehicle types including buses
- Commitment to safety and company policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must have Class C Commercial License with passenger endorsement or attain within three months
- Valid California driver’s license with 2 points or less
- Ability to handle at least 25 pieces of luggage per day weighing 25-50 lbs each
- Experience driving large vehicles such as buses or vans preferred
- Knowledge of local area and off-site destinations beneficial
Job Duties
- Be courteous, respectful and pleasant to all guests
- Report guest issues/incidents immediately at next stop
- Keep all vehicles fueled
- Transport guests to and from Spanish Bay, The Lodge, Casa Palmero and Beach Club properties in 8 one-hour loops
- Transport guests to off-site destinations, including Monterey Peninsula Airport, local restaurants, San Jose and San Francisco
- Assist guests with storage, loading, unloading and safe handling of luggage and golf clubs
- Greet guests with a sincere smile and proper salutation
- Use guest name and recognize return guests when possible
- Answer questions and provide information on daily functions
- Inspect company vehicles before use for cleaning, maintenance and safety issues
- Report any deficiencies immediately to supervisor
- No handheld phones or texting while driving
- Pick up and store golf clubs properly
- Transport packages and materials between properties
- Sign in at location log sheets and check instructions
- Drive within legal and company speed limits
- Provide guests with information regarding re-routes
- Inform guests of each stop and driver intentions
- Ensure schedule adherence without exceeding speed limits
- Respond promptly to dispatcher and manager instructions
- Never leave keys in unattended vehicles
- Assist other departments as needed
- Able to drive autos, vans, SUVs, buses, and disabled vans
