The Driver role at Pebble Beach Company is a vital position tasked with ensuring the safe and courteous transportation of resort guests to various destinations within and around the resort properties. This employment opportunity offers competitive pay starting at $17.40 per hour, plus service charges. The Driver is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by transporting guests to and from golf courses, hotels, and other off-site locations, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience during their visit. This position requires adherence to company safety policies, maintaining vehicle conditions by performing inspections, and handling guest luggage and golf equipment with the utmost care.

The responsibilities of a Driver include managing up to eight one-hour transportation loops with multiple stops, assisting guests with luggage and equipment, and providing guests with relevant property and event information during their journeys. This role demands excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation to greet and interact with guests in a respectful and friendly manner. Safety is paramount; therefore, the Driver must comply with legal driving regulations, avoid the use of handheld electronic devices while operating the vehicle, and report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly. The position also offers the opportunity to interact with various departments within the Company, such as Guest Services, Porter, Valet, and Concierge, supporting an integrated guest experience. Drivers may operate different types of vehicles, including autos, vans, SUVs, buses, and disabled vans, and must hold or attain a Class C Commercial License with passenger endorsement within three months of hire. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid California driver's license with two points or less
Must have or obtain Class C Commercial License with passenger endorsement within three months
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift and handle 25-50 lbs luggage multiple times daily
Ability to operate autos, vans, SUVs, buses and disabled vans
Willingness to comply with drug-free workplace policies and pre-employment testing

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Be courteous, respectful and pleasant to all guests
Report guest issues/incidents immediately at next stop
Keep all vehicles fueled
Transport guests to and from Spanish Bay, The Lodge, Casa Palmero and Beach Club properties in eight one-hour loops including 10 stops per loop or 80 stops per day
Transport guests to off-site destinations including Monterey Peninsula Airport, local restaurants, San Jose and San Francisco
Assist guests with storage, loading, unloading and safe handling of luggage and golf clubs
Ability to handle a minimum of 25 pieces of luggage/bags per day, 25-50 lbs per piece
Greet guests with a sincere smile using proper salutation
Use guest names and recognize return guests when possible
Answer questions and provide information on daily resort functions
Inspect vehicles for cleaning, maintenance and safety issues before use
Report deficiencies immediately and avoid driving unsafe vehicles
Prohibit use of handheld phones or texting while driving
Pick up golf clubs and store properly
Transport packages and materials between properties
Sign in at location log sheets and follow instructions
Drive within legal and company speed limits
Provide guests with reroute information
Inform guests of each stop and driver's intentions
Adhere strictly to guest pickup/drop off schedules
Respond promptly to dispatcher and supervisor communications
Never leave keys in unattended vehicles
Perform additional duties assigned by management
Assist Guest Services including Porter/Valet and Concierge
Drive various vehicles including autos, vans, SUVs, buses and disabled vans
