With a robust network and a team of dedicated professionals such as sales representatives, chefs, and consultants, Performance Foodservice offers more than just food products – it builds strong partnerships by advising clients on operational improvements, menu development, product selection, and strategic growth. The company's mission goes beyond delivery; it aims to empower local business owners by providing essential support and expertise to help them achieve their goals and thrive in a competitive marketplace.

There are meaningful growth opportunities for employees who perform essential work contributing to America’s food distribution system. Recognition and rewards are integral to the culture at Performance Foodservice, ensuring employees feel valued and motivated.

The driver position at Performance Foodservice plays a critical role in sustaining the supply chain by delivering food and related products safely and efficiently to customers across local and interstate routes. This role involves driving straight trucks or vans while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to ensure safe completion of all deliveries. Drivers handle urgent orders arising from mispicks or customer service issues, requiring strong communication and customer service skills to maintain professional interactions with customers, vendors, and colleagues.

Key responsibilities include conducting thorough safety inspections of vehicles and trailers before and after trips, securing freight properly, accurately completing all required paperwork, and managing the physical unloading and transport of products to designated customer storage areas. Drivers also perform damage control procedures, verify deliveries with customers, and collect payments when necessary. Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and work areas, handling customer returns and damaged goods, and completing daily service logs aligned with federal, state, and company requirements. The role demands physical stamina for lifting and operating equipment to move freight, which can weigh between 60 to 90 pounds.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent and possess a valid non-commercial driver's license, meeting all state licensing requirements. Applicants must be 21 years or older, have a clean driving record for the past three years, pass a pre-employment drug test, and successfully complete a road test. The position requires the ability to use hand trucks, lift gates, and other equipment for product handling. Join Performance Foodservice and become an essential part of the team that not only delivers quality food products but supports the growth and success of America's vibrant foodservice community.
