The company is recognized for providing a broad range of non-alcoholic beverages including sparkling soft drinks, water, ingredient-enhanced drinks, isotonics, tea, energy drinks, juices, coffee, and nutrition beverages. This diversity allows Heartland Coca-Cola to cater to a wide audience, ensuring customers have multiple beverage options that meet their various preferences and needs. With a strong commitment to its people, customers, and community, the company fosters a culture that values teamwork, passion, and mutual success, striving to work and win together by delivering excellent products and services.
The role of Driver Merchandiser at Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company is a vital position responsible for handling both the delivery and merchandising of pre-ordered products to assigned accounts on specified routes. This role operates primarily on a 4-day workweek comprising 10-hour days, Monday through Friday, offering a balanced schedule for employees. The Driver Merchandiser not only ensures timely and accurate delivery of products but also plays a crucial role in merchandising by displaying and rotating products according to company standards, guaranteeing product visibility and freshness at customer locations. An integral part of this position involves the use of computer technology to create customer invoices, collect payments, and settle accounts daily, demanding a combination of physical activity and administrative precision.
In addition, the Driver Merchandiser is expected to uphold high standards of customer service and communication, addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and following up appropriately to maintain strong customer relationships. Compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, is mandatory to ensure safety and operational excellence. Collaboration with other departments within the organization is encouraged to foster internal relationships and enhance customer satisfaction through coordinated efforts.
Candidates for this position must meet specific requirements including being at least 21 years old, having at least one year of work experience, and preferably possessing local delivery experience. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory. The role requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) that covers both automatic and manual vehicles, with Illinois residents needing a CDL issued by the state of Illinois. A clean driving record in line with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) guidelines is essential. Experience using a pallet jack is preferred, and the ability to obtain powered industrial truck certification upon hiring is required. The physical demands of the job include frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, mobility throughout customer locations, and working in various temperature environments.
Heartland Coca-Cola offers competitive compensation at $25.00 per hour for this position. Included in the benefits package for full-time employees are medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, wellness programs, and tuition reimbursement. Part-time employees also have access to paid time off, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement benefits. The company emphasizes equal employment opportunities, encouraging a diverse workforce and providing fair consideration to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected class. As a veteran-friendly employer, Heartland Coca-Cola is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for all its team members.
