Job Description
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals. With a workforce of approximately 18,000 associates, Airgas operates to foster a culture of safety, innovation, customer success, and sustainability. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader with presence in 60 countries and a workforce exceeding 66,500 employees, Airgas is a critical player in the gases and healthcare industries. The company is committed to embracing diversity, equality, and inclusion, offering a workplace where people from various backgrounds and cultures can thrive and contribute to the company’s continual growth and innovation.
Located in Amarillo, TX, the Amarillo Fill Plant is part of Airgas’s expansive network dedicated to delivering quality service and reliable supply of gas cylinders and related products. Airgas is currently hiring for the position of Local Delivery Driver, a critical role that involves the transportation and delivery of compressed gas cylinders to various customer locations within the region. This is a full-time opportunities position offering competitive compensation at $27 per hour with potential for bonuses. The work schedule is Monday through Friday during day shifts, fostering a solid work-life balance.
The Local Delivery Driver role is fundamental in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery services that meet the rigorous safety standards upheld by Airgas and government agencies including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA. The Driver is responsible for managing the flow of cylinders, handling deliveries safely, maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations, and building lasting relationships with customers. Drivers operate company-provided straight or box trucks and also provide warehouse support as needed to facilitate the flow of product. This role not only requires safe driving skills but also physical capability in handling heavy equipment and products.
As a Service and Delivery Professional at Airgas, the successful candidate will be part of a supportive and professional team that values personal growth, internal mobility, and a positive work environment. The company’s culture emphasizes respect for diversity and inclusion, the importance of safety, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation. New hires receive benefits starting just 30 days into their employment, including comprehensive family benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. Additional benefits include paid parental leave, a robust 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
This position suits individuals who are dedicated professionals with the ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines and demonstrate strong responsibility in handling hazardous materials. The company also values those willing to grow and advance their careers, providing a structured environment with opportunities for upward mobility and career development. This local delivery position offers an excellent opportunity for drivers who desire a rewarding career with a top-tier company where they can return home daily and benefit from a strong culture that prioritizes safety and employee well-being.
