Job Description

Vast is a pioneering aerospace company dedicated to creating the future of human life and activity in space. Their mission is to establish a continuous human presence beyond Earth, particularly through the development of next-generation space stations. These space stations are designed to support advanced microgravity research, manufacturing, and a growing space economy that benefits government, corporate, and private sector customers. Vast employs an innovative approach that emphasizes incremental development, cost efficiency, and hardware richness to rapidly build its multi-module Haven Station. With the successful operation of the Haven Demo in 2025, Vast became the first and only commercial space station company to fly and operate their own spacecraft. Their upcoming Haven-1 module is projected to be the world's first commercial space station, supporting permanent human habitation in orbit by 2030.

Vast's workspace is located in Long Beach, California, where the company is driving forward its ambitious goals with a team that is fully committed to safety, precision, and timely execution. They seek individuals passionate about advancing space exploration and working alongside some of the most talented minds to join their mission.

The role of Driver - Inventory Control at Vast is crucial for sustaining daily operations across the company's facilities. Reporting to the Manager of Inventory Control, the role involves supporting the logistics that underpin the construction and maintenance of artificial-gravity, human-rated space stations. This full-time, non-exempt position is based at Vast's Long Beach and nearby locations and focuses on moving materials, parts, and equipment efficiently between buildings within a three-mile radius. The Driver plays a vital role in ensuring teams have the necessary supplies to maintain uninterrupted production workflows and in accurately tracking inventory movements using Vast’s inventory system, Manufacturo.

Responsibilities include timely and safe transport of components, proper loading and unloading to prevent damage, use of various material handling equipment, and close collaboration with production, warehouse, and operations teams to prioritize deliveries. The position also requires strong adherence to safety protocols, equipment checks, and maintaining clean and organized vehicles. This role demands physical movement and effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments.

Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license with a clean record, be capable of operating Vans, small trucks, or carts safely, and be reliable and detail-oriented. Communication and teamwork skills, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential. Although prior experience in warehouse or manufacturing delivery roles and familiarity with inventory tracking systems like Manufacturo is preferred, candidates committed to safety and organization will find ample opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Vast’s mission.

In addition to a competitive base salary that reflects experience and skills, Vast offers a comprehensive benefits package. This includes 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their dependents, generous paid time off, paid parental leave, disability insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) retirement plans. The company also provides wellness perks such as ClassPass credits, personalized mental healthcare through Spring Health, and a strong food program featuring free snacks, coffee, cold drinks, dinner meals, and subsidized lunch. Vast emphasizes equal opportunity employment and compliance with U.S. export control regulations, requiring that candidates have the appropriate U.S. person status to handle sensitive information and materials.
