This role is integral to the nation’s food supply chain, where delivery drivers at Vistar play a critical role in ensuring food safety and timely distribution. The position for a Driver, Hourly CDL-B, involves operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver food and food-service products both locally and across state lines. Drivers are responsible not only for the transportation and safe delivery of goods but also for representing Vistar’s brand as its direct contact with customers, building long-lasting relationships based on professionalism and reliability. Scheduled from Monday through Friday, starting as early as 6am until finish, this full-time role offers competitive pay and numerous growth opportunities within the company.
The Driver, Hourly CDL-B must adhere to stringent Department of Transportation regulations, conduct thorough vehicle and safety inspections before and after each trip, and manage all necessary paperwork with precision. Duties include loading and unloading products, securing freight, conducting counts and damage control checks, and maintaining clean and organized equipment and loading docks. Drivers also handle transactions where necessary and ensure compliance with hours-of-service rules. The responsibilities demand physical ability to lift and move cases typically ranging from 10 to 90 pounds and operate equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.

- valid CDL-B license
- must be 21 or older
- meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one
- able to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move and stack product cases/freight

Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- perform count check of items and check customer invoices of loaded products
- complete required paperwork associated with freight accurately
- move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
