This driver position at Vistar is a pivotal role responsible for the safe, timely delivery and unloading of various food and food-related products. The role involves driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, engaging in over-the-road (OTR) and local deliveries. The schedule is designed for work-life balance, featuring four-day routes with weekends off, including three days OTR and one day local driving. Drivers are expected to adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies, performing thorough safety checks such as pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers. Additionally, this position requires professional communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure high standards of customer service. The driver is tasked with verifying loaded freight, maintaining accurate paperwork, and securing freight properly while also managing deliveries by following predetermined routes.

Among key responsibilities are unloading products at delivery points, performing damage assessments, collecting payments where required, and handling customer returns. Drivers must maintain cleanliness and organization of their tractor, trailer, and loading dock areas and complete all necessary documentation, including hours of service logs.
