Job Description
Performance Foodservice, the broadline distributor of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading supplier dedicated to serving a diverse array of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company’s core strength lies in its extensive network of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other foodservice professionals who build strong, collaborative relationships with customers. By understanding their unique challenges and goals, the team provides expert advice on optimizing operations, menu development, product selection, and overall strategic initiatives to help customers succeed and grow in a competitive marketplace.
Performance Foodservice is not just about delivering high-quality food products; it’s about supporting the dreams and ambitions of independent restaurant owners and other foodservice professionals across the country. The company emphasizes a culture of inclusivity, respect, and recognition, fostering a supportive work environment where teamwork and excellence are celebrated. This commitment translates into superior service for customers and a workplace that prioritizes the well-being of its employees.
The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver (Driver, Helper Non Formula) at Performance Foodservice is integral to supporting the food supply chain and ensuring timely, safe delivery of products to customers. Drivers are the company's representatives on the front lines, interacting directly with customers and playing a key role in maintaining PFG’s reputation for reliable and friendly service. As a Driver Helper, you will work alongside truck drivers operating tractor-trailers, tandem trailers, or straight trucks along intrastate and interstate routes.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the loading and unloading of products, accurately placing deliveries as per customer directions, and ensuring all delivery documentation is completed properly and promptly. The role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, prioritizing safety and compliance at all times. Beyond the operational tasks, this position offers the opportunity to develop relationships with customers, helping to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
Performance Foodservice offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K matching, education assistance, and paid time off. Employees also benefit from growth opportunities within the company while performing meaningful work that supports America's food distribution system.
Working at Performance Foodservice means joining a team committed to excellence and mutual support, in an environment that values diversity and inclusion. If you are dependable, customer-focused, and ready to contribute to a vital industry with a company that cares about your success, the Food and Food Service Delivery Driver role provides a fulfilling career path with room to grow.
