The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver Helper is integral to maintaining the seamless delivery of goods to PFG’s diverse clientele. Drivers and their helpers ensure that products reach customers timely, intact, and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. As the face of the company, delivery personnel are tasked with not only performing physical delivery duties but also building strong, positive customer relationships that reflect PFG’s commitment to service excellence.

Specifically, the Driver Helper assists the primary Driver by accompanying them on intrastate and interstate routes, unloading and loading various products, and placing these products in designated areas as instructed by customers. This role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and professionalism in all interactions with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Driver Helpers must complete all associated documentation accurately and promptly, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a warehouse environment interfacing with customers in the foodservice industry
  • Ability to pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Physical ability to load and unload products
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years (preferred)
  • Ability to work intrastate and interstate routes

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience interfacing with customers within the foodservice industry
  • Ability to complete delivery documentation accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor in customer and vendor interactions
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Assist driver in the safe and accurate delivery of products to customers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Load and unload truck and/or company vehicles
  • Place products in areas identified by customers
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally
  • Follow Department of Transportation regulations during deliveries
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
