Job Description
Core-Mark is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry, recognized for its extensive range of solutions that cater to fresh and broadline consumer goods. Established as the largest and most comprehensive marketer in North America, Core-Mark serves convenience operators across the United States and Canada with a full spectrum of products, programs, and customized solutions designed to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The company’s reputation is built on empowering its customers, employees, and communities, fostering a business environment that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
The role of Driver, Helper Non Formula, is an essential seasonal position within Core-Mark’s operational framework, designed to support the timely and safe delivery of food and food service products that are critical to America’s food supply chain. This role is vital in ensuring that products reach customers within the designated schedules, maintaining product integrity and service excellence. As a Driver Helper, you will assist the driver in various tasks that include loading and unloading products, positioning them as requested by customers, and managing delivery documentation accurately to maintain compliance with company and Department of Transportation regulations. The position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, beginning early in the morning at 4:00 AM, with the expectation to work until all delivery responsibilities are completed for the day.
This role offers competitive pay starting at $20.50 per hour, with an increased rate of $21.50 per hour for those holding a CDL Learner Permit. The seasonal assignment is estimated to last approximately six months, with potential extension based on operational needs. While the position is temporary, there is an opportunity for seasonal employees to be considered for full-time roles, although conversion is not guaranteed. Core-Mark underlines its commitment to employee well-being through comprehensive benefits starting from day one, including health and wellness programs, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. The company prides itself on a safe and inclusive working environment where rewards, recognition, and respect are integral to the workplace culture.
Joining Core-Mark as a Driver Helper means becoming part of an industry leader dedicated to upholding the highest standards in delivery services while fostering personal and professional growth. This role not only demands physical stamina and attention to detail but also offers the satisfaction of supporting America’s food distribution system, a backbone of the national economy. The successful candidate will engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, consistently representing the Core-Mark brand with integrity and excellence. If you are proactive, dependable, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this position is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience within the food distribution industry.
