The position of CNP Driver at Uplift Meridian Preparatory plays an integral role in the school's campus operations, particularly within the Child Nutrition Program (CNP). This full-time role involves the safe and efficient transportation of food and related supplies to various school locations, ensuring that nutritious meals are delivered timely and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The CNP Driver assists in multiple facets of food service, including helping prepare orders, loading and unloading food carriers, managing inventory and stock, and supporting kitchen cleanliness and safety protocols. Starting pay for this position is $18.00 per hour, reflecting the vital nature of the role within school operations.
This job demands a reliable individual with excellent vehicle driving skills and a commitment to food safety and sanitation. The CNP Driver will regularly operate delivery vehicles following Department of Transportation regulations and internal safety guidelines. They will also engage in kitchen tasks such as food preparation, serving, cashier duties, and maintaining cleanliness and equipment sanitation. This position requires adherence to USDA and TDA guidelines related to food counting, claiming, and safety. The work environment involves standing and walking for extended periods, exposure to various temperatures, and the ability to lift moderate weights. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous driving experience with company vehicle preferred
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Current Food Handler Permit valid before employment
- Ability to comprehend food preparation and safety guidelines
- Knowledge of kitchen and food production equipment
- Operate motorized vehicles safely
- Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel and students
- Proficiency in software and basic office equipment
- Ability to perform basic math
- Pass criminal background and motor vehicle record checks
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Able to stand and walk for entire shifts
- Capable of reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and bending
- Able to lift and move 50-60 pounds
- Comfortable with exposure to mechanical parts and varying temperatures
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures

- Ability to communicate with personnel, students, and parents
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions in written or oral English
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale and timekeeping software
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Criminal records check and motor vehicle report clearance
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery to vended kitchens
- Assist in receiving stock and non-stock items to ensure order accuracy
- Load and unload food carriers for delivery
- Drive delivery vehicles to designated areas timely
- Ensure optimal food temperatures during transport
- Assist in cleaning, organizing food and equipment
- Prepare quality food according to menus and recipes
- Serve food according to schedules and safety policies
- Store and handle food items per policies
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in the kitchen
- Operate kitchen tools and equipment safely
- Keep garbage collection areas clean and sanitary
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain personal hygiene per food safety policies
- Adhere to professional conduct standards
- Follow USDA/TDA counting and claiming processes
- Handle cashier functions accurately and timely
- Record and maintain food production and delivery documentation
- Promote teamwork with staff members
- Complete continuing education and training annually
- Attend monthly meetings
- Complete assignments efficiently and timely
- Assist with daily and major cleaning of kitchen areas and equipment
- Perform other kitchen tasks as assigned
- Provide courteous and professional interaction with scholars and staff
- Support other personnel as needed
- Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and refuel as needed
