The role of Campus Operations - CNP Driver at Uplift Meridian Preparatory is vital to supporting the school’s child nutrition program by ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of food and related supplies to various school locations. This position is essential in meeting the nutritional needs of scholars and staff while complying with the highest standards of food safety and regulatory requirements. As a CNP Driver, you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of food orders using designated delivery vehicles, maintaining optimal food temperatures during transit, assisting with stock management, and supporting kitchen operations including cleaning, inventory management, and food service. The role also involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of the kitchen and vehicles, conducting daily vehicle safety checks, and following USDA/TDA guidelines in all food handling and claiming processes.
Starting pay for this full-time position is $18.00 per hour. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a current Food Handler Permit within 5 days of employment
- Previous driving experience with company vehicles preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents
- Ability to understand and follow food safety and preparation instructions
- Capable of standing and walking for entire shifts
- Ability to lift and move 50-60 pounds regularly
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely
- Successful criminal records check and Motor Vehicle Record check
- Eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization
- Physical capacity to reach, balance, stoop, kneel, twist, and bend often
- Ability to work in environments with moderate to high noise and fluctuating temperatures.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Equivalent work experience may substitute for diploma
- Previous company vehicle driving experience preferred
- Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record required
- Current Food Handler Permit required within 5 days of employment
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles safely
- Knowledge of food preparation and safety instructions
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food production procedures
- Ability to operate small and large kitchen equipment and tools
- Strong communication skills with personnel, students, and parents
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English
- Ability to use software such as POS and clock systems
- Basic proficiency in arithmetic
- Successful completion of criminal records check and MVR
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Job Duties
- Assists in preparing orders for delivery to vended kitchens
- Assists in receiving stock and non-stock items ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality
- Loads food carriers with prepared meals into vehicles and transports them safely
- Drives delivery vehicles to designated areas ensuring timely delivery and optimal food temperatures
- Assists in cleaning, organizing food, rotating stock, and managing inventory
- Prepares quality food according to menu and recipes
- Serves food according to schedules and food safety policies
- Stores and handles food items and supplies as per policies
- Maintains safety and cleanliness standards in the kitchen
- Operates kitchen equipment and tools safely
- Ensures garbage collection areas are neat and sanitary
- Follows all industry standard food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintains personal hygiene and professional conduct
- Adheres to USDA/TDA counting and claiming processes
- Handles cashier functions accurately and timely
- Records daily food production worksheets and delivery receipts
- Promotes teamwork and supports fellow staff
- Completes continuing education and attends monthly meetings
- Assists with kitchen clean-up and major cleaning tasks
- Performs additional assigned kitchen tasks such as dishwashing, cashier duties, and meal distribution
- Provides courteous and professional interactions with scholars and staff
- Conducts daily vehicle safety inspections, refuels as needed, and reports maintenance issues promptly following fleet safety guidelines
- Obeys traffic laws and practices defensive driving
- Reports problems maintaining vehicle safety.
