Job Description
Safety-Kleen, located in Englewood, CO, is actively seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee). Safety-Kleen is a prominent subsidiary of Clean Harbors, which is recognized as the leading provider of environmental, energy, and industrial services across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. As a company, Clean Harbors combines environmental expertise and innovative solutions to tackle some of the most challenging problems in industry and industrial waste management. Their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility makes them a preferred employer for those seeking a career that contributes positively to the health of the planet.
The position involves training to drive a Class B box truck while providing onsite services such as maintenance of parts washer machines, picking up containerized hazardous waste, and promoting the sale of products and services along a defined route. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a career within an organization that is dedicated to safety, environmental stewardship, and professional growth. Safety-Kleen will sponsor the necessary Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), enabling candidates without a CDL to develop the skills and certifications needed to operate safely and efficiently in this industry.
Safety is the number one priority at Clean Harbors and Safety-Kleen, who practice rigorous health and safety protocols every day of the year. Employees are supported through comprehensive training, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to perform their duties safely. The role is full-time, with a recruiting pay rate around $25 per hour, reflecting the value placed on the responsibilities assigned.
This job involves a blend of physical labor and customer service, requiring candidates who are ready to engage on various levels—from handling heavy drums of solutions to building client relationships by offering additional products and services. Employees are expected to comply with local, state, provincial, and federal compliance regulations, including all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, ensuring a safe and legal operation of vehicles and onsite services. The position also involves administrative responsibilities including properly documenting services and completing required labeling for materials handled.
Candidates who join Safety-Kleen will benefit from an excellent array of employment perks, such as comprehensive health benefits coverage starting just 30 days after full-time employment, a 401(k) plan with company matching contributions, the opportunity to own company stock through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and a commitment to career development and tuition reimbursement. As an equal opportunity employer, Clean Harbors values diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities and supporting military veterans. The company strives to maintain pay transparency and equitable compensation practices, with potential eligibility for bonuses and incentives beyond the base salary.
By joining Safety-Kleen, employees become part of a dynamic team that is fundamentally changing how industries interact with the environment. The Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee role is a stepping stone toward a rewarding career in an essential service industry with strong growth prospects. Candidates can expect to work independently, manage their schedules effectively, and make a tangible positive impact within their communities by helping maintain safer, cleaner industrial environments.
