Job Description

Airgas, a subsidiary of Air Liquide, stands as a premier supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases across the United States. Renowned for its extensive product range including hardgoods, safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals, Airgas emphasizes a commitment to safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. The company employs approximately 18,000 associates and operates with the vision of empowering its workforce to share ideas, act with initiative, and make vital decisions that drive forward its business objectives. As part of the global Air Liquide network, which serves over 4 million customers and patients in 60 countries with about 66,500 employees, Airgas leverages worldwide technological and operational expertise while fostering a local workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and individual growth.

Located in North Las Vegas, NV, Airgas is currently seeking a Class A Local Driver to join its unionized retail shop team. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $28.05 and includes eligibility for a monthly incentive plan based on individual and team contributions and success. The role guarantees a stable Monday through Friday schedule with occasional weekend support, averaging 40 to 45 hours per week, making it ideal for candidates seeking work-life balance. Airgas provides a modern, well-equipped fleet of vehicles under six years old featuring driver-friendly technology like on-board computers, collision avoidance systems, latest camera technology, and GPS navigation to enhance safety and efficiency.

The Class A Driver, as a crucial representative of Airgas, is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from Airgas branch or plant locations. The job entails operating company-provided tractor trailers, straight trucks, or box trucks while performing critical tasks such as loading, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders. This hands-on, physically active role demands regular lifting of heavy objects, frequent vehicle ingress and egress, and direct interaction with customers to nurture professional relationships. Drivers must also conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards.

Airgas values the diversity of its workforce and is committed to building an inclusive and welcoming environment where employees can thrive, innovate, and reach their full potential. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, along with family support through paid parental leave and a strong focus on future security with retirement plans, tuition assistance, and paid holidays. Those joining Airgas not only become part of a safety-oriented, customer-focused organization but also have significant opportunities for career advancement and personal development within a supportive community.
