Job Description
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a premier U.S. supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases alongside related hardgoods and safety products. Recognized as one of the nation's key providers of ammonia products and process chemicals, Airgas thrives through the dedication and diversity of its 18,000 associates who ensure a culture anchored in safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. As a subsidiary of global leader Air Liquide, which operates in 60 countries with around 66,500 employees, Airgas benefits from worldwide expertise in gas technologies and services essential for both industry and healthcare sectors.
Located in North Las Vegas, NV, Airgas is currently hiring a Class A Union CDL Driver for their retail shop. This role is pivotal to the company's operations as the driver acts as the "face of Airgas," responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers. The position involves operating company-provided tractor trailers, straight trucks, or box trucks to transport product directly from branch or plant locations. Unique to this role is the combination of skilled driving and physical labor, including loading, unloading, securing cylinders, and delivering them on customer premises often requiring the use of a hand cart.
The driver will enjoy a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with occasional weekends, ranging from 40 to 45 hours per week, typically starting in the morning and finishing by late afternoon. One of the standout benefits of this role is the guarantee to be home every night, offering an excellent work-life balance ideal for those valuing family and personal time. Airgas supports its drivers with a modern, well-maintained fleet equipped with advanced safety technology such as collision avoidance and onboard GPS navigation.
In addition to competitive pay at $28.70 per hour for CDL A license holders and a $1000 referral bonus, this union position includes a comprehensive benefits package. Employees gain early access to benefits after only 30 days, which cover medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. Airgas also provides a robust support system for families with 14 weeks of paid childbirth benefits, alongside future financial security through a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
Airgas is committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering an innovative work environment where all employees are respected and valued. The company actively encourages applicants from all backgrounds and maintains equal opportunity employment policies. The driver role is ideally suited for individuals with a valid Class A CDL or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements, emphasizing safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence.
Joining Airgas means becoming part of a dynamic team that values your contribution and growth. Drivers are not only crucial in supporting business logistics but also in representing Airgas’s dedication to responsible delivery and customer satisfaction. With ongoing opportunities for advancement and a culture that prioritizes employee well-being, this role offers a fulfilling career path in a stable and respected organization.
