Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a premier U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases alongside hardgoods and related products. As one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products and a leading supplier of ammonia products and process chemicals, Airgas employs over 18,000 passionate associates committed to fostering a culture that emphasizes safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. The company empowers its workforce to bring forward ideas, take initiative, and make impactful decisions, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Airgas operates as a subsidiary of Air Liquide, which is recognized globally for providing gases, technologies, and services to industry and healthcare sectors. Air Liquide operates in 60 countries, employs approximately 66,500 individuals, and serves more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide. At Airgas, employees play an integral role in supporting these extensive operations by ensuring products are sustainably created, safely handled, and efficiently delivered.

This job opening is for a Union CDL A Driver position based in North Las Vegas at one of Airgas's retail shops. The role is designed for individuals who want to achieve a perfect work-life balance while serving as the face of Airgas to various local and regional business customers. With a competitive hourly pay rate of $28.05 for CDL A license holders and a $1000 referral bonus, the position is attractive for experienced drivers seeking stable employment.

The Airgas CDL A Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders using company-provided vehicles such as tractor trailers, straight trucks, or box trucks. Employees in this role will load, unload, deliver, and return these cylinders, maintaining a professional relationship with customers during frequent interactions. This job promotes a healthy balance with a schedule that typically allows drivers to be home every night, working 40-45 hours per week with minimal overtime and a Monday-Friday schedule that occasionally requires weekend work. The workday starts in the morning and concludes by late afternoon.

Airgas prides itself on operating a modern and efficient fleet, mainly consisting of vehicles less than six years old equipped with advanced driver-friendly technology. These include onboard computers, collision avoidance systems, the latest camera technology, and GPS navigation, all designed to enhance safety and efficiency.

The role involves physical labor, including safely strapping and unstrapping cylinders and transporting them on customer sites using hand carts. Drivers are expected to frequently exit their vehicles and participate in loading and unloading activities. Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections are required, emphasizing safety and vehicle maintenance.

Airgas offers an impressive benefits package that supports employees' overall well-being, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. Additional family support is provided with a 14-week paid childbirth benefit, and future security is fostered through a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Employees gain access to these benefits early in their employment journey — starting as soon as 30 days after hire.

Airgas is committed to diversity and inclusion, recognizing that embracing varied perspectives and backgrounds strengthens the company and drives innovation. The employer strictly honors equal opportunity principles, welcoming applicants regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics. This role is well-suited for individuals looking for a career with a reputable company that values safety, diversity, and employee development while providing competitive compensation and benefits.
