Specifically, the Driver CDL position at the Kent, WA location plays a crucial role in maintaining the seamless supply chain that keeps Mondelz International's products on shelves across the country. This is a union-represented, full-time position offering an hourly pay rate of $31.65 for a standard 40-hour workweek, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package negotiated between the company and the union. The Driver CDL role requires a commercial driver's license Class A and at least two years of proven safe driving experience. The driver is responsible for delivering snack products efficiently and safely to a variety of retail locations and warehouses. Emphasis is placed on strict adherence to safety procedures, conducting regular inspections of vehicles and equipment (such as tractors, trailers, and pallet jacks), and maintaining accurate records of receipts, truck logs, and maintenance. The driver must be customer-oriented, providing excellent support to key accounts and adapting to changing delivery routes and schedules.

Mondelz International expects drivers to be knowledgeable about compliance with OSHA and Department of Transportation regulations, general vehicle maintenance, and temperature-controlled food transportation to ensure product quality and safety. Additionally, drivers utilize modern technology such as electronic logging devices (ELDs), smart devices, and scanners for logistical accuracy and efficient communication.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a CDL-Class A license
  • Minimum two years of proven safe driving experience
  • Must successfully pass drug test, motor vehicle record (MVR), and background check
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse registration required
  • Ability to adapt to changing routes and schedules
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must have customer-oriented attitude
  • Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Ability to use electronic logging devices and technology for deliveries

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a CDL-Class A license
  • Minimum two years of proven safe driving experience
  • Preferred direct store delivery experience (DSD)
  • Familiarity with OSHA and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations as well as local, state, and federal requirements
  • Basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation
  • Proficient in using electronic logging devices, scanners, smart phones, or tablets for delivery and logging
  • Customer-oriented attitude with excellent support skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and varying temperatures
  • General knowledge of vehicle mechanics to communicate problems and perform basic repairs if needed

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with procedures and regular safety checks of your equipment (tractor, trailer, pallet jack, etc.) to always guarantee safety
  • Completes daily field service activities, including preparing receipts, truck logs, and maintenance records
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch
  • Deliver products safely and efficiently to various stores and warehouses
  • Provide customer-oriented support to key customers
  • Use a smart phone, tablet, and electronic logging device (ELD) for logging positions and driving times
  • Adapt to changing routes and working schedules
