The business values a close-knit team environment where employees are encouraged to grow and develop alongside the company. Macdonald Meat Company prides itself on maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service while adapting to the dynamic needs of its clients in the restaurant, hotel, and commercial sectors.
The Class C Delivery Driver position plays a vital role within Macdonald Meat Company. This role is responsible for the professional, safe, and timely delivery of perishable meat and seafood items to customers across surrounding regions. Drivers operate company vehicles under a valid Class C license and must ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including safety protocols and hours-of-service guidelines. This position demands physical stamina and the ability to adapt to all weather conditions, such as snow, ice, rain, and heat, including the use of tire chains when necessary.
Beyond just driving, this role entails loading and unloading products safely using assistive equipment like dollies and lift gates and strict adherence to food safety and temperature control standards to maintain product quality. Drivers are expected to maintain accurate documentation, including delivery logs, temperature records, and invoices to ensure accountability and quality assurance. Strong customer service skills are essential, as drivers represent Macdonald Meat Company directly to clients and resolve delivery issues courteously and professionally.
The role also requires flexibility in schedules, routes, and workloads to meet business demands and customer expectations. Physical demands include frequent lifting of products up to 50 pounds, sometimes up to 75 pounds with assistance, as well as exposure to temperature extremes in refrigerated, frozen, and outdoor environments. Working conditions may also involve operation in high-altitude or mountainous terrain. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, adaptable, and safety-conscious, with a preference for candidates who have prior commercial or delivery driving experience and some familiarity with perishable food products.
Employment with Macdonald Meat Company offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth within a stable, established company renowned for its dedication to quality and customer service. The company offers a supportive work environment where safety and employee wellbeing are prioritized, making it a great choice for experienced drivers looking to further their careers in the food distribution industry.
