The part-time Driver position involves delivering bulk and packaged meals from the central kitchen in Baltimore City to various distribution points including day care facilities, congregate eating sites, and home-delivered meal clients. Primarily responsible for ensuring that the correct quantity of meals is verified against packing slips and safely delivered on a set route, this role supports the distribution process by assisting drivers in loading and pulling meals when necessary and performing basic maintenance on the vehicle. Candidates will work approximately 24 hours per week with flexible scheduling Monday through Friday. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and integrity of the meal delivery system while adhering to all Maryland state road safety regulations. The position requires a high level of responsibility, independence, and physical capability, particularly the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. It also demands familiarity with food sanitation practices and the ability to maintain a clean driving record and customer satisfaction standards. Ideal applicants will have a Maryland driver’s license with a clean or nearly clean driving history, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior related experience.

Job Requirements
- Able to lift objects a minimum of 50 pounds
- able to perform all functions independently
- basic knowledge of food sanitation and HACCP guidelines
- proficient in following the driving safety guidelines as required by the agency
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a Maryland driver's license with no more than one point at hire and maintains a driving record of three or less points during employment
- high school diploma or equivalent certificate
- one to two years of related experience
- flexible to work shifts Monday to Friday
Job Duties
- Support the distribution sites whenever help is needed
- deliver both home delivered meals and congregate meals
- support drivers with pulling and loading meals
- read packing slip and verify accurate count of meals before leaving the central kitchen
- load the van with bulk food and/or packaged food containers in an organized fashion
- deliver food to specified sites/locations per established route
- pick up and return empty food containers to main kitchen
- perform utility work and maintenance in assigned vehicle as needed and directed by supervisor
- return van and all assigned work tools to main office daily
- adhere to all Maryland state standards for road safety
- relay messages from the kitchen to the distribution sites and vice versa if applicable
- assist in taking and recording food temperatures as requested
- substitute for other routes in order to fill in where and as needed
- maintain a driving record free of accidents for twelve months
- maintain customer/client concern record free of complaints for twelve months
