Located in Ankeny, Iowa, McLane is currently seeking dedicated CDL-A Delivery Drivers to join their team. This role offers industry-leading pay with first-year earnings ranging from $65,000 to $90,000. The CDL-A Delivery Driver role is critical to the company’s ongoing success. Drivers will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers safely and efficiently while adhering to commercial driving regulations. You will conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, ensure accurate deliveries by inspecting bills of lading and store keys, and maintain detailed driver logs according to Department of Transportation regulations. The role also includes unloading trailers and managing product delivery into customer premises. McLane values safety and reliability, requiring all drivers to be safety-focused, adaptable, and dedicated to their profession. Candidates must have a valid Class A commercial driver’s license, be at least 21 years old, and possess a minimum of one year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience. Additionally, drivers must meet McLane’s motor vehicle records and risk rating qualifications.

Job Duties

  • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre-post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition
  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery
  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle
  • Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations documenting delivery receipt product temperatures and exceptions
  • Unload trailer delivering product into customer premises
  • Other duties as assigned
