Job Description

SJB Child Development Centers is a respected organization dedicated to providing high-quality child development services throughout Santa Clara County. As a leader in early childhood education and care, SJB Child Development Centers operate various programs that aim to support children and families through nutritionally balanced meals and educational initiatives. The organization places a strong emphasis on health, safety, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that the well-being of children and staff is always the highest priority. SJB follows the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal patterns and maintains rigorous standards in meal preparation, food delivery, and kitchen management to promote the healthiest environment possible.

The Food Delivery Driver role at SJB Child Development Centers is a vital position that combines responsibilities in food preparation, transportation, and kitchen cleanliness to ensure that nutritious meals reach the many programs the Center serves effectively and safely. The driver is responsible for the preparation, pickup, and delivery of prepared meals to various sites within Santa Clara County. This involves strict adherence to portioning information according to USDA and CACFP meal guidelines to maintain consistent quality and nutrition standards. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities such as unloading and storing food supplies, maintaining the cleanliness of company vehicles and kitchen areas, and managing food inventory levels to support cost control and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for someone who has a strong interest in nutrition and meal delivery within a community service environment. The driver must be diligent about food safety protocols and vehicle maintenance, demonstrating attention to detail and responsibility in daily operations. In addition to food delivery and kitchen duties, the individual is expected to uphold health and safety regulations, report any safety concerns promptly, and support other food service members through cross-training and teamwork.

The position also requires the driver to complete all necessary paperwork and reports accurately and timely to comply with USDA meal program standards and internal audit requirements. The role entails physical demands such as lifting heavy loads, operating delivery vehicles safely, and working in varying weather conditions and noisy environments. This job offers a chance to be part of a professional, cohesive team dedicated to serving diverse communities with respect and cultural awareness.

Working at SJB Child Development Centers as a Food Delivery Driver empowers the employee to contribute significantly to the organization's mission of nurturing children’s health and development through proper nutrition. The driver plays an essential part in the daily success of the CACFP meal delivery system by ensuring food arrives on time, in perfect condition, and meets all safety and quality standards. The environment supports growth and continuous learning with opportunities to attend trainings and participate in program improvements. This employment opportunity is a full-time role requiring a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass various background checks and health screenings as required by law.
