Job Description
McLane Company is a distinguished leader in the distribution industry, serving America for over 130 years. Founded in 1894, McLane has built a comprehensive nationwide network of team members, consistently delivering excellence across multiple sectors, including restaurant, retail, and e-commerce industries. Its robust business model rests on strong client relationships, innovative technology adoption, and a people-centered culture that fosters the growth and stability of its workforce. McLane is widely recognized for its commitment to safety, reliability, and delivering high-quality service, making it a top choice for professionals seeking long-term careers in distribution and logistics.
The company is currently seeking qualified CDL-A Delivery Drivers to join their dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity for drivers to elevate their careers with competitive pay ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience. The employment type is full-time, with routes available for solo and team drivers across local and overnight deliveries. Most routes are 2-day trips, with some extending to 3-day assignments. Noteworthy in this role is the customer-assisted delivery method that utilizes liftgates with electric pallet jacks, emphasizing efficiency and ease of unloading.
As a CDL-A Delivery Driver at McLane, professionals are entrusted with critical responsibilities that encompass not only the safe operation of tractor-trailers but also meticulous inspection and documentation to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers inspect their vehicles pre- and post-trip, verify delivery paperwork, maintain driver logs via manual methods or Peoplenet systems, and ensure product safety by monitoring temperatures during transit. The role demands adherence to stringent safety and operational protocols, reflecting McLane's unwavering focus on delivering excellence and safety.
This position is ideal for dependable individuals who are safety conscious, adaptable, and dedicated to their craft. McLane supports its drivers with comprehensive day-one benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, drivers enjoy paid holidays, vacation time accrual, sick leave, and participation in a 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days. Further advantages include pet insurance, maternity and paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, and tuition reimbursement, creating a supportive work environment that values employee well-being and professional development.
McLane maintains a clear commitment to inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on age, race, sex, gender identity, or veteran status. Drug screening and background checks are part of the hiring process, ensuring a safe and trustworthy workplace. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid CDL-A license with a minimum of one year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience. The ability to read and understand English sufficiently to perform job-related tasks securely is also mandatory.
By joining McLane, drivers become part of a legacy that has been moving America forward for over a century. The company is continuously evolving to incorporate new technologies and training programs to keep its team members equipped and ready to meet the challenges of modern distribution. This role is not only a job but a career path with a future in a company deeply rooted in tradition and innovation.
