Job Description
Main Street Recovery is a dedicated organization focused on providing supportive services and safe environments for individuals in recovery. Operating within the framework of Native American cultural values, Main Street Recovery offers a Recovery House program designed to assist residents through critical stages of their recovery journey. The organization emphasizes safety, community integration, and individualized support tailored to their residents' needs. The work environment blends structured support with flexibility to respond to residents' evolving requirements, including transportation to various events, appointments, and recovery meetings. This ensures that residents can participate fully in recovery activities while feeling secure and supported throughout their time at the facility.
The position available is for a Recovery House Driver, a vital role responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for residents to and from various events, recovery meetings, medical appointments, day trips, and overnight outings. The driver plays an essential part in maintaining the residents' safety and comfort, ensuring smooth operations of transport-related duties while working closely with Recovery House staff. Reporting any concerns immediately to the Recovery House Manager, the driver also assists with general duties in the Recovery House. This includes helping Safety Technicians, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and mechanical health, and documenting transportations and any incidents effectively. The role requires a reliable individual with a strong sense of responsibility, who has an understanding and sensitivity toward Native American culture and community needs.
Employment in this position is full-time, with an hourly wage ranging from $18.86 to $24.07. The role demands physical capabilities such as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to be active in various environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain certifications such as CPR/First Aid and a Food Handler's card within 60 days of hire. Holding a valid Oregon driver's license and maintaining personal vehicle insurance are mandatory due to the nature of the duties involved.
This role suits candidates who have at least one year of experience working with elderly populations or similar fields, or equivalent education and training. Recovery experience is desirable, and if the employee is in recovery themselves, a minimum of two years sobriety is required. The position encourages teamwork, dependability, and the ability to follow directions while communicating effectively with staff and residents alike. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about supporting recovery efforts and contributing positively to a community-focused environment.
