With a strong commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and operational excellence, Summit Stairs partners closely with builders and contractors to deliver precise and safe products that significantly enhance residential homes. The company has built a solid reputation in the residential market by combining extensive field expertise with robust customer relationships, ensuring reliability and consistency in every project they undertake. As part of the MBP Group family, Summit Stairs & Millwork is connected to a comprehensive network of specialty building businesses that serve both residential and commercial markets nationwide. This connection offers employees valuable opportunities for continued growth, career development, and engagement in a collaborative platform that emphasizes operational excellence, shared leadership, and long-term success.
The role of Driver/Loader at Summit Stairs & Millwork plays a vital role in the company’s operations, focusing on the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of stair systems and millwork products to customers. Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager, this position demands a candidate who values safety, reliability, and exceptional customer service. The Driver/Loader will be responsible for operating box trucks up to 20 feet in length, complying fully with all Department of Transportation regulations. This position emphasizes delivering products safely and courteously while building strong, professional relationships with customers. Beyond driving, the role also requires the physical loading and unloading of materials, verifying contents against work orders and shipping tickets, and reporting any discrepancies such as overages, shortages, or damages promptly and accurately.
A critical aspect of this position includes conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining accurate documentation such as gas receipts and proof-of-delivery photos. The Driver/Loader must use communication skills to report any customer concerns or delivery issues promptly to ensure a positive experience and operational accountability. This job requires physical stamina and the ability to lift or move heavy materials with team assistance, as well as familiarity with ramps, docks, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Perfect vision and depth perception are essential for safely navigating roads and delivering goods.
This is a full-time position based in Garner, NC, offering competitive pay ranging from $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional overtime as needed. Employees will find themselves part of an inclusive work environment committed to diversity and equal opportunity. Summit Stairs & Millwork fosters a workplace culture that respects and celebrates all employees, ensuring a supportive and welcoming atmosphere. Joining this team means becoming part of a company that is raising the bar—and ceiling—in its industry, offering stability, professional growth, and a chance to contribute to a company that serves a key role in homebuilding nationwide.
