The Steward/Dishwasher position at Dram Yard offers an exciting opportunity for an upbeat and team-oriented individual to play a crucial role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment. This full-time role is essential to the kitchen's smooth operation, responsible for ensuring that all guest dishware, cooking equipment, cutlery, china, and prep stations are clean, sanitized, and ready for use at all times. The Steward/Dishwasher works closely with kitchen management to uphold the highest hygiene standards and help preserve the quality of all kitchen tools and equipment. This hands-on position demands a high level of organization, a positive attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

In this role, you will not only maintain the cleanliness of kitchen floors and food storage areas but also coordinate stock levels of glassware, flatware, and dishware to ensure seamless service. You will be responsible for helping keep the kitchen organized by placing produce, proteins, and other ingredients in their proper storage areas and participating in the upkeep of the walk-in fridge. Additionally, you will contribute to a collaborative work environment, supporting the kitchen team to create an enjoyable and efficient workplace for everyone.

  • 1 year of experience as a Steward/Dishwasher in a high-quality full service or fast casual environment
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Must be energetic and outgoing
  • Must be service oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate effective time management
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and concisely
  • Ability to work effectively with the rest of the team
  • Willingness to follow cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Physically able to perform duties including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items

Job Duties

  • Making sure all cooking equipment, cutlery, china and work stations are clean at all times
  • Working efficiently so all equipment, glassware, flatware, and dishware are properly stocked and ready for service
  • Helping to maintain all equipment, glassware, china and cutlery in order to preserve quality
  • Coordinating with Kitchen Management on cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Collecting and placing produce, proteins and other necessary ingredients in their respective places
  • Sweeping kitchen floors before and after service
  • Cleaning the walk-in fridge and making sure all food storage areas are clean
  • Maintaining the kitchen cleaning schedule
  • Working positively and professionally with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth operation and an enjoyable workplace for all
