The Kitchen Manager position at BHG offers an exciting opportunity for experienced kitchen or executive chefs eager to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic organization. This full-time role is available across various locations in the Louisville market, including Paddock, Hurstbourne, St. Matthews, and Jeffersonville, Indiana. As a Kitchen Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and motivating the culinary team to deliver exceptional food quality and service. The role requires a combination of leadership skills, operational expertise, and creative culinary talents. You will partner closely with the Corporate Chef to develop innovative, seasonally inspired menus that emphasize fresh, locally sourced ingredients. This leadership role demands rigorous adherence to recipe standards, portion control, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency in guest dining experiences.

The Kitchen Manager is also responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment through effective workflow management, inventory oversight, and cost control measures. Monitoring food quality and freshness is critical, along with conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed. Training and mentoring are integral functions of this role, providing guidance on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and sanitation standards to uphold the highest levels of kitchen performance.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two-year related experience or certificate from college or technical school in related field or equivalent combination of education and one year experience
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Able to continuously stand for long periods
  • Comfortable working with hot and cold kitchen equipment
  • Must be able to move loads up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and climb as required
  • Participation in Core Values Training Program with potential travel and hotel accommodations covered by BHG

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two-year related experience or certificate from college or technical school in related field
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English through reading, writing, and speaking
  • Basic computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of POS and scheduling systems such as Toast and 7Shifts is encouraged
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Commitment to kitchen safety and sanitation practices
