As a full-time pastry baker at Dozen, you will become an integral member of a passionate and skilled pastry team. This position offers a competitive starting pay of $18.25 per hour, inclusive of tip share, with higher rates available for applicants with relevant culinary experience. The role is physically active and requires standing for long periods, frequent walking and bending, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance. The Pastry Baker at Dozen holds a vital responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the pastry department. Job Duties

  • Understands and accurately performs all functions of production in the pastry department including scaling measuring mixing shaping and baking
  • Follows daily production schedule ensuring appropriate quantities of each pastry item are ready on time for retail and wholesale customers
  • Assists with seasonal menu changes and new item development
  • Communicates production needs or issues to appropriate leaders including ingredient needs and par changes
  • Analyzes quality efficiency and timeliness to improve personal performance
  • Recognizes correct appearance of each pastry variety ensuring uniform color and quality
  • Follows all food safety regulations and practices at all times
  • Maintains knowledge of all pastry products to inform and educate customers and staff
  • Assists lead pastry baker in training new employees
  • Attends and contributes to pastry team meetings
