The Dough Maker position at Tree House Brewing is a dynamic and specialized role based at the Tewksbury location. This is a part-time position that requires early morning availability, starting as early as 5 am daily. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager and Culinary Program Manager, the Dough Maker is responsible for preparing high-quality pizza dough and pizzas following Tree House’s standardized protocols. This role is crucial in supporting Tree House’s recent expansion into pizza service alongside its celebrated beverages. The individual will need to demonstrate skill and precision in dough preparation, closely monitoring the rising process, and ensuring that all toppings are portioned with care and consistency.
Beyond basic preparation, the Dough Maker will actively contribute to adapting the pizza standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with variable factors unique to the Tewksbury kitchen environment. These may include ingredient sourcing trials, adjustments to cooking methods, kitchen condition considerations, and handling fluctuations in customer volume. Effective communication with retail management and staff regarding menu changes and allergy information is essential, underscoring the role’s significant impact on food safety and customer satisfaction.
The Dough Maker is also tasked with maintaining clean, sanitary workspaces that comply with food safety requirements and supporting other kitchen activities as assigned. Given the fast-paced nature of Tree House Brewing’s kitchen operations, the candidate must excel in a team environment, maintain excellent communication, and provide memorable guest experiences. Job Requirements
- Previous work experience as a baker or dough maker in a professional setting required
- A food handler's license is preferred
- ability to obtain is required
- Hands-on experience with preparing pizza doughs
- Proven food preparation and food handling experience including manual dexterity in operating cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- The ability to follow standardized recipes

Job Duties
- Preparing high-quality pizza dough according to Tree House standardized protocols
- Preparing high-quality pizzas according to Tree House standardized protocols
- Continuing to adapt Tree House pizza SOP for variable conditions as they present themselves in Tewksbury, including but not limited to ingredient sourcing and trialing, cooking methodologies, kitchen conditions, and customer volume
- Monitoring the rising of the dough
- Prepping and portioning pizza toppings to ensure success of the pizza service
- Communicating with retail management and staff of any changes to the menu as needed
- Being aware of ingredients in products that would need to be communicated to customers in the case of any potential food allergies
- Monitoring inventory and notifying management of low stock levels as necessary
- Keeping work areas and overall kitchen sanitized and clean
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
