Doubletree Hotel Los Angeles Norwalk is a distinguished hotel located just 6 miles from Knott's Berry Farm Amusement Park, known for its inviting outdoor pool, hot tub, and fully equipped gym facilities. This hotel provides guests with spacious and comfortable rooms featuring modern amenities such as 32-inch flat-screen TVs with cable and video games, Wi-Fi, seating areas, desks, coffee makers, and ironing facilities. We are currently seeking to expand our culinary team by hiring a dedicated Cook to join the Doubletree Hotel Los Angeles Norwalk. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of all food preparation and service across multiple outlets, including the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. The successful candidate will be a culinary professional passionate about food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
As a Cook at our hotel, you will be responsible for preparing and supervising food items with precision, maintaining high standards for quality, portioning, and presentation. You will take on a leadership role within the kitchen, coordinating the efforts of kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and consistent delivery of high-quality dishes and service. The role demands someone who excels under pressure, has keen organizational skills to maintain a spotless and safe kitchen environment, and takes proactive steps to anticipate and resolve challenges before they affect service. Effective communication is essential, as you will regularly share information with coworkers and guests professionally and clearly.
This position requires a culinary expert with at least one year of experience in the hospitality industry or a culinary graduate with equivalent experience. A valid Food Handlers Certification aligned with state requirements is mandatory. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages time effectively to ensure prompt food preparation and delivery, and actively contributes to a collaborative kitchen atmosphere. Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
- Food Handlers Certification required, must comply with State requirements
- Able to work effectively under pressure, maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining best course of action
- Strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests
- Ability to maintain kitchen organization and safety standards
- Proactive mindset to anticipate and resolve operational challenges
- Time management skills to ensure prompt food preparation and service
Job Qualifications
