Job Description

Hyatt is a renowned global hospitality company dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for its guests. This commitment transforms ordinary trips into memorable journeys, simple encounters into meaningful experiences, and everyday jobs into fulfilling careers. Hyatt’s commitment to connected and sustainable hospitality means that every role within the company is significant, offering employees opportunities for personal and professional growth. Individuality is celebrated, and the company culture fosters an environment where diverse talents flourish. At its core, Hyatt views hospitality not just as a job but as a career path for those who genuinely care about people and excellence in service.

Grand Hyatt San Francisco exemplifies this commitment through its sophisticated elegance and refined modern style. Situated in the heart of the city on Union Square, this luxury hotel offers guests unparalleled access to premier shopping, Michelin-star dining, and vibrant entertainment options. The hotel itself provides stunning views of Union Square, the Bay, or the San Francisco skyline, ensuring that every guest can unwind and rejuvenate in comfort. Each room and suite is thoughtfully designed with residential-style amenities to maximize guest relaxation and enjoyment during their stay.

The Door Attendant role at Grand Hyatt San Francisco is pivotal in shaping the first and last impressions of guests. Beyond these primary duties, the Door Attendant maintains vigilance over the front entrance area to ensure guest safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. This includes monitoring traffic flow, curbside activity, and maintaining the overall welcoming appearance of the hotel’s entrance and lobby doors. Effective communication is essential in this role, as the Door Attendant coordinates with various hotel departments such as bell services, valet, concierge, front desk, security, and housekeeping to ensure seamless guest experiences. The role occasionally extends to assisting with crowd control during high-volume periods or special events.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who thrives in a fast-paced urban hotel environment, demonstrating polished professionalism, attentiveness, and a proactive approach. This role also offers the chance to work outdoors and requires the ability to remain alert and service-oriented in varying weather conditions. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves standing and walking for extended periods. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability during mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also required.

In return for their dedication and service, Hyatt offers excellent benefits to its employees, including free room nights, discounted room rates for friends and family, comprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, sick days, holidays, tuition reimbursement, free colleague meals during shifts, and discounts at various popular retailers. These benefits reflect Hyatt’s commitment to supporting the overall well-being and professional development of its team members.

Joining the Grand Hyatt San Francisco as a Door Attendant means becoming part of a team that values excellence, inclusivity, and the art of hospitality.
