This full-time, non-management position is located at the St. Regis hotel at 363 E Wacker Dr, Chicago, Illinois. It offers an hourly wage of $25.78. The role is pivotal in ensuring guests receive a warm welcome and seamless assistance throughout their stay. As a frontline ambassador of the hotel’s renowned service, the successful candidate will greet and escort guests to their rooms, hold doors open and assist with entry and exit from the property, and provide valuable information about hotel amenities, services, operational hours, and local attractions. They will also help guests understand room features such as keys, mini-bars, in-room safes, and valet laundry services. Another important responsibility includes handling guests' luggage by transporting, storing, and retrieving it as needed, while assisting guests in loading and unloading their vehicles. Additionally, the role requires arranging transportation services like taxicabs, shuttle buses, limousine or sedan services, and managing advance transportation requests for guests. Ensuring guests are aware of parking procedures and providing directions are also key elements of the role.

Beyond guest interactions, the associate must adhere strictly to company policies and safety protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents to management. Vigilance against undesirable persons on hotel premises is essential to maintaining guest safety and property security. Employees must ensure their uniform and personal appearance remain clean and professional while protecting the confidentiality of proprietary information. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and fulfill their service needs including aiding individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation upon their departure. Communication must be clear, professional, and courteous, including proper telephone etiquette. This role demands physical stamina to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods, and the ability to safely maneuver over various surfaces, including stairs and ramps. Employees must be capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds alone, and heavier items up to 75 pounds with assistance. Flexibility to respond quickly to work situations and perform additional duties as requested by supervisors is essential.

Job Duties

  • Greet and escort guests to rooms
  • open doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving property
  • inform guests of property amenities, services, hours of operation, and local areas of interest
  • identify and explain room features to guests (use of room key, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, valet laundry services)
  • transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and designated bell area
  • assist with luggage storage and retrieval
  • assist guests in and out of vehicles, including loading/unloading luggage
  • supply guests with directions
  • arrange transportation for guests (taxicab, shuttle bus, limousine/sedan service) and record advance transportation requests
  • communicate parking procedures to guests
