Job Description
The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel stands as a premier destination resort committed to delivering a unique and exciting experience rooted deeply in Traditional Tribal Hospitality. As a trusted and celebrated establishment, the resort blends luxury and cultural heritage to create an unforgettable environment for both visitors and employees alike. With a strong belief in community and family, the resort warmly welcomes new team members as part of its family, encouraging a sense of belonging and shared purpose. The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel is not only known for its exquisite gaming and hospitality services but also for its dedication to maintaining high standards in every aspect of its operation, including food service and guest experience.
The Baker position at the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of fresh, high-quality baked goods across various venues within the resort. This role demands expertise in baking techniques and excellence in maintaining food safety standards. The Baker is responsible for mixing, baking, and preparing an array of baked goods and desserts using appropriate techniques. Attention to detail and adherence to production schedules are critical, as is the ability to organize and rotate stock efficiently in the pantry to maintain product freshness and availability.
Beyond core baking tasks, the Baker also contributes creatively by presenting new menu ideas and suggestions that align with the resort’s commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Ensuring compliance with all company policies as well as local, state, and federal food service laws and requirements is paramount for this role. Team collaboration is a key element, with attendance at departmental meetings, workshops, and training sessions to ensure continuous development and alignment with best practices. Additional duties may be assigned, reflecting the dynamic environment in which the Baker operates.
This position is designed for individuals with at least six months of professional baking experience within a full-service establishment and who possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, basic math abilities, and customer service focus are essential for success. The role requires proficiency in proper heating, cooling, reheating, and sanitation procedures to ensure food quality and safety.
Physically, the Baker role demands medium strength capabilities involving lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The work environment requires standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching, and sensory abilities, including close and peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a team-oriented setting and are passionate about crafting quality baked goods while upholding the health and safety standards of a top-tier resort.
The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel adheres to an Indian Preference hiring policy in the following order: Coeur d'Alene Tribal Members, spouses or children of CDA Members, other enrolled members of Federally Recognized Tribes, and then all other applicants. This reflects the hotel’s dedication to honoring its cultural roots and community values while fostering diversity and excellence in its workforce.
